With gateway cargo operations commencing at Trivandrum port on 18 August, the port’s capabilities are becoming clearer — and MSC’s revamped IPAK service is the headline act. The restructured Europe–South Asia rotation now calls at TRV, effectively giving Kerala a weekly window to Europe.
Starting from Felixstowe in the UK, the service calls at Rotterdam, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Le Havre and London Gateway before reaching Vizhinjam — meaning Indian goods reach the European market directly, without any transshipment. The MSC Surabaya VIII opens the rotation from Felixstowe on 9 August.
Because the service calls at TRV first before proceeding to Nhava Sheva, Hazira and Mundra, cargo from major ICDs like Bangalore and Coimbatore can connect directly — and according to the current schedule, a Europe sailing is available from TRV every 7 to 10 days through early November.
The full vessel-by-vessel schedule, and what it means for shippers in eastern and western India, is in this week’s subscriber edition.
