HSBC reopens branch in Trivandrum ahead of gateway operations

By Motherport News

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) has resumed operations in Trivandrum. Georgy Thomas stated on social media that HSBC is opening its branch based on the consideration of the city as a new trade hub in India. “Branch Manager Ms. Anu Raj told me that HSBC has a long tradition of supporting business. She expressed optimism about the opportunities opened up by Vizhinjam Port’s gateway operations,” he noted.

The branch was inaugurated on 14 August. It appears they began preparations well before TRV commenced EXIM cargo operations on 18 August. “We are delighted to welcome you as we mark an exciting new chapter with the opening of HSBC, India’s newest branch in Thiruvananthapuram,” HSBC stated in its inaugural note.
